What is a virtual doctor visit?

An online doctor visit falls under the term telemedicine. Telemedicine is the technology used to connect patients with doctors to diagnose and prescribe medications. This technology has been a huge development within the last few years, but has really hit home for many of us during the start of the late Coronavirus pandemic. Having the ability to speak to a doctor from the comfort, or quarantine for most, of your home has bridged the gap for many needing medical help.

To put it simply, a virtual doctor visit is the ability to use your mobile phone, tablet or desktop computer to digitally connect face-to-face with a certified health provider on the other end. Virtual visits work the same way as an in-person office visit. If a prescription or lab tests are needed, a virtual doctor has the same ability to prescribe medications as needed, per their professional opinion based on the online consult and any past medical history you provide.

What is a Bonum Health telemedicine visit?

Through a virtual medical visit our providers will diagnose your symptoms, prescribe medication, and send any prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice.

Where are Bonum Health telemedicine visits available?

Our services are available in 49 states and the District of Columbia.

We are not currently offering telehealth coverage in Alaska.

Do I need to schedule an appointment?

You do not need to schedule an appointment. Our business model is “Uber-style” delivery where you submit your request to speak to a provider, answer a few health screening questions to give your provider some insight to your condition and the first available network provider will contact you based on your geographical location.

If a provider is not immediately available, you can report your symptoms and then be placed in a virtual waiting room. As soon as a provider is available they will review your case and give you a call back to start your virtual visit.

How do I sign up for or activate my Bonum Health account?

You can easily sign up or activate your account by using one of the following methods:

Who are the Bonum Health Providers?

Our network of Board Certified providers practice under Bonum Health Medical Group and are both single and multi-state licensed and credentialed to work in your state of residence. Our providers go through a rigorous selection process and receive ongoing telemedicine training as a part of our network.

How long does it take for a provider to review and treat my condition?

Our providers are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It usually takes less than 4 hours for one of our providers to review your case and call you during business hours (8AM to 8PM Pacific Time).

Can my Bonum Health provider prescribe medication?

Our providers can fill many routine non-controlled prescriptions such as antibiotics, steroids, birth control and other maintenance medications. After reviewing your case your provider will use their medical judgment to determine whether a prescription is required, and any prescriptions will be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice. We do not prescribe or refill any controlled substances such as Adderall, Ativan, or Xanax.

Can Bonum Health handle emergency situations?

Unfortunately, Bonum Health is not a replacement for emergency situations. Bonum Health is designed to handle non-emergency medical issues. You should NOT use telehealth if you are experiencing a medical emergency. Please call 911 and get an immediate help for your health complaints.

Do I need to have health insurance to use Bonum Telehealth services?

We do not accept insurance at this time. All services rendered are cash pay only. We have a monthly subscription option to use our telehealth services up to 5 times a month, or you can request a one-time consultation and simply pay per-consult.

Will I see the same doctor if I request more than one visit?

We offer a large provider network for hour flexibility and convenience to our patients. For this reason, you may not see the same provider twice. However, after each consultation, the provider you speak with will notate your conditions and treatment, so the next provider is informed of your current and past conditions.
